Single Malt Whisky the Indian Way: A Visit to Amrut

India is one of the world’s largest whisky-consuming nations, but never had a single malt whisky to call its own until the Jagdale family’s Amrut Distillery in Bangalore produced the first Indian single malt in 2004. Originally available only in the UK, Amrut expressions are now available in 22 nations around the world…but only in one of India’s 25 states…so far.
