Tomatin 2007 Rum Cask. Image courtesy Tomatin. This whisky is Tomatin’s first release using rum casks, and instead of using the Caribbean Rum casks for finishing, the distillery used them for the entire 9-year-long maturation period. The nose has notes of crème brûlée, toasted coconut, molasses, and honey. The taste is full of tropical fruits, with mango, pineapple, and a hint of grapefruit balanced by toasted coconut and molasses notes in the background. The finish is long, smooth, and fruity with subtle hints of spice. More, please! (January, 2018)
