The Tweedale: The Last Centennial. Image courtesy R&B Distillers. R&B Distillers co-founder Alasdair Day has been blending The Tweedale Blend whiskies since 2009 using recipes originally created by his great-grandfather. “The Last Centennial” refers to the 100th anniversary of the final recipe in his great-grandfather’s notes.

The nose is malty and aromatic with a hint of smoke and notes of dried fruits, orange peel, coffee beans, and touches of allspice, oak, and cocoa. The taste starts off with chocolate and orange notes followed by a burst of cinnamon that fades away slowly. The chocolate and orange notes linger in the background with a hint of allspice that comes out as the cinnamon fades. The finish is long with lingering spices, touches of orange peel. cocoa, and coffee beans. Nice! (October, 2016)
