Single Malts of Scotland Bruichladdich 1992. Image courtesy Speciality Drinks. This Islay single malt was distilled before Bruichladdich closed for several years, and was bottled in 2016 just short of 24 years in the cask. The nose has a soft peatiness with driftwood, heather, vanilla, and a hint of honey. The taste is thick and peppery with a subtle peatiness and notes of driftwood smoke, heather, vanilla, ginger, honey, and a touch of dark chocolate. The finish is long and smooth with a nice peppery bite and a gentle smokiness. (December, 2017)
