This Islay single malt was distilled before Bruichladdich closed for several years, and was bottled in 2016 just short of 24 years in the cask. The nose has a soft peatiness with driftwood, heather, vanilla, and a hint of honey. The taste is thick and peppery with a subtle peatiness and notes of driftwood smoke, heather, vanilla, ginger, honey, and a touch of dark chocolate. The finish is long and smooth with a nice peppery bite and a gentle smokiness. (December, 2017)
