The Alumni Series honors Canada’s hockey legacy with unique whiskies created by master blender Dr. Don Livermore and several retired NHL legends, with part of the proceeds from each bottle going to the NHL Alumni Association to help retired players. Livermore created this 9-year-old three-grain whisky with Hockey Hall of Famer Lanny McDonald for sale in Alberta with a wheat-dominated character.
The nose has notes of wheat bread with honey, fudge, caramel, and dried fruits. The taste is complex and well-rounded with gentle spicy notes of allspice, white pepper, and a hint of ginger balanced by honey, caramel, and a hint of fudge. The finish lingers nicely with softly fading spices. Very nice! (December, 2018)
