One of Highland Park's 1968 casks in the distillery's warehouse. File photo ©2013, Mark Gillespie/CaskStrength Media. There’s only one way that you’ll be able to taste this one. It’s a vatting of several of Highland Park’s remaining casks from 1968, and is poured exclusively for distillery visitors on the £500 “Vintage” and £1,000 “Day at the Distillery” tours.

The nose has a gentle smokiness with notes of grilled pineapple, papaya, mango, candied orange peel, and a hint of honey. The taste is well-balanced, vibrant and fruity with mango, papaya, orange peel, and subtle allspice and ginger spicy notes that don’t overpower the fruitiness. However, they develop fully on the finish to add even more complexity and fade away smoothly after a long, amazing experience. An all-time classic! (May, 2017)
