Four Roses Elliott's Select Bourbon. Image courtesy Four Roses. This limited-edition single barrel Bourbon was named in honor of Brent Elliott, the new master distiller at Kentucky’s Four Roses, and comes from a 14-year-old batch of the distillery’s OESK recipe that was originally intended for use in a small batch release to mark what would have been retired master distiller Jim Rutledge’s 50th anniversary this year.

The nose is floral and light with notes of fresh berries, peaches, and dried flowers on top balanced by lower notes of brown sugar and molasses. The taste is spicy with nutmeg, cinnamon, and black pepper balanced by notes of blackberries, orange peel, brown sugar, honey, and vanilla. The finish is long with subtly lingering spices and a nice fruitiness. Excellent! (May, 2016)
