Egan's Irish Whiskey. Image courtesy P&H Egan Ltd. This 10-year-old single malt (originally distilled at Cooley) has revived a classic Irish whiskey brand that has a family heritage dating back 160 years in the area around Tullamore. Unlike many Irish whiskies, this is bottled at a higher strength and with no chill-filtering, which adds to the flavor.

The nose is malty and buttery with notes of dried flowers, muted spices, caramel, and butterscotch. The taste is buttery with a good balance of spicy clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg notes along with caramel, lemon zest, and grapefruit. The finish is long and spicy with a slight tartness.
