Cooper's Choice 1967 Lochside. Image courtesy The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. One of the few bottlings available from this closed Highland distillery, and matured for 49 years in an ex-Bourbon cask. The nose is tart and citrusy with lemon custard, vanilla, milk chocolate, fudge, and a nice maltiness. The taste starts off soft, then turns tart and spicy with a nice burst of lemon pepper, vanilla, and hints of mango and orange peel. The finish is long, citrusy, and slightly astringent.
