It’s Bruichladdich head distiller Adam Hannett’s take on Octomore with all of the secrets (and cask types) of Black Art. The nose has notes of campfire smoke with a hint of phenols, caramel apples, muted spices, black tea and honey. The taste is spicy and smoky with touches of barbecued beef, toffee, cocoa beans, licorice, and charred oak. The finish is long, gently fading, and well…wow! Bruichladdich only produced 3,000 bottles, and the only way to find one now is on the secondary market or by luck – but if you get a chance to taste it, do not pass it up! (January, 2018)
