This is a unique venture between Ireland’s Connacht Whiskey Company and Philadelphia’s New Liberty Distillery, which share the same distiller and blender. Robert Cassell and his partners sourced 10-year-old Irish and American whiskies and blended them together to create Brothership.
The nose is aromatic and warm with notes of nutmeg, ginger, honey, straw, and a touch of hot fudge. The taste is syrupy-thick, spicy, and slightly tart with lemon zest, clove, black pepper, honey, vanilla, and a hint of oak. The finish is long and fades away nicely. (May, 2017)
